Rachel Artiano, B.A.

Primary Lead Teacher and Language Specialist

Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts from Loyola Marymount University and holds a CA Teaching Credential with CLAD certification.  She is also Slingerland Certified (Orton-Gillingham).  Rachel was one of three staff running a program for children who needed additional support as well as needing additional enrichment at a private Christian School.   She volunteered in an adult literacy program in Newport Beach (for adult non-readers) and has developed curriculum for Sunday School at a former church.   Rachel served several years on leadership in MOPS and helped develop classroom curriculum/activities for MOPS children.  While a stay-at-home mom, Rachel privately tutored struggling students for three years.

Rachel has taught 15 years in public, private and Christian schools.  She has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, (a few 4th graders) at Pathway.  Rachel has taught at Pathway for nine years and is the Primary Lead Teacher.  She has also served as an interventionist, Literacy Specialist at and on Dyslexia Expert Group at Pathway.

Rachel has a heart for students who need unique approaches to learning as well as creative and unconventional methods to support and nurture their learning. She loves to interpret data and individualize instruction to meet students’ one-of-a-kind learning styles. Primary is where her heart is and has always been. She enjoys teaching the fundamentals of language and reading.  Rachel believes God set her on a path to Pathway when she was a little girl. She gets joy from seeing student’s eyes light up as they recognize a victory or a special talent.
