About Our School
Pathway School is designed for bright, creative students in grades 3-8 with learning differences and unique learning styles. We are a Christian-based school in Orange County and we strive to develop each child to maximize their God-given potential. We offer a strong academic curriculum and utilize teaching techniques tailored to the needs of each and every student. The school equips students with the tools necessary to overcome the obstacles blocking their way to academic and personal success.
Pathway School understands that no two children learn, develop, or mature at the same pace. Learning differences touch not only academic skills but also the entire child and his or her family. Whatever the specific stumbling blocks to learning, frustration, and some level of anxiety almost always accompany them. At Pathway School, attention is given to the student; individual areas of strength are celebrated, struggles identified, and learning programs carefully developed to meet each child’s needs.
Families choose Pathway because their child is struggling in a traditional classroom setting and they may be experiencing any of the following:
- Reading, writing, mathematical skills may be below grade level.
- They struggle with executive functioning skills, including but not limited to organization and focus.
- The workload and is too heavy and they can’t keep up.
- They are overwhelmed by class size and peer interactions.
- They are not receiving the support they need in order to be successful.
Many, but not all Pathway students have a diagnosis that impacts learning such as ADHD, dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, or auditory processing disorder. Some Pathway students do not have a formal diagnosis but struggle with executive function skills and thrive in a smaller class size.
At Pathway, we focus not only on academics but on the social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of your child. Students experience a relaxed learning environment free from the fear of failure. As the child begins to increase his or her academic and social interaction success, we begin to see the bright, confident, happy, and beautiful child that God created and the hope of a bright future.
Pathway is a Christian school, however, we accept children of all faiths. We do require parents to sign a Statement of Faith, acknowledging that the school believes the Bible to be the word of God; that we teach the Bible, and that all children are required to attend Bible classes and Chapel.
