A Christian School in Orange County for Kids Who Struggle with Math, Including Dyscalculia
Some kids understand big ideas but freeze when numbers show up. They count on their fingers long after classmates have stopped, lose track of steps, or panic on timed tests. If that sounds like your child, they may have dyscalculia or another math learning difference. Pathway School is a small Christian school in Laguna Hills, California, for grades 2–8, where students who learn differently get the time and teaching they need to build real math skills.
Signs of a math learning difference
Trouble remembering basic math facts
Losing track of steps in multi-step problems
Difficulty with time, money or estimating
Strong reasoning out loud but low scores on paper
Worry or tears around math homework
How Pathway helps with math
Placement by level in each subject. Students are placed by academic level in each subject, so your child can rebuild math foundations without being held back in other classes.
Small classes. A 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio gives teachers time to see exactly where a student’s thinking breaks down.
Hands-on, multisensory math. Students learn by seeing, hearing, moving and doing, so numbers become concrete before they move to paper.
Learning Center time. Extra math support is built into the school day, so it does not replace core instruction.
Progress you can see. Regular benchmark assessments show how your child is growing over the year.
Confidence first. Students learn in a relaxed environment free from the fear of failure, so they are willing to try again.
Questions parents ask
Does my child need a dyscalculia diagnosis to apply?
No. A diagnosis never decides whether a child belongs at Pathway. We look at how your child learns and whether our program is a good fit.
Do you also help with reading and attention?
Yes. Many of our students have more than one learning difference, such as dyslexia or ADHD alongside math struggles.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. About 3 in 10 Pathway families receive need-based tuition assistance.
