A Christian School in Orange County Supporting Kids with ADHD
When a bright child can't show what they know
Your child is curious, funny, and clearly smart. But at school, the story is different. Homework takes hours, notes come home about "not paying attention," and your child is starting to believe they are just not good at school.
For many families of kids with ADHD, this is exactly where they are when they find Pathway School. Our small Christian school in Laguna Hills supports students with ADHD in grades 2 through 8, helping them build the skills, structure, and confidence to succeed.
What ADHD can look like at school
ADHD is not about effort or intelligence. It affects how a child manages attention, time, and tasks, and a busy classroom can make all of that harder. Parents often notice signs like these:
Trouble staying focused, even when the work isn't hard
Forgotten assignments, a messy backpack, and missed deadlines
Difficulty starting tasks or finishing what they start
Feeling overwhelmed by large classes and fast-moving lessons
Frustration, low self-esteem, or saying they "hate school"
In a class of 30, these struggles are easy to misread as a behavior problem. In the right setting, they become skills a child can learn.
How Pathway helps students with ADHD
Small classes. With one teacher for every 10 students, teachers notice when attention drifts and can redirect a child quickly and kindly.
Executive function every week. Our weekly executive function class teaches planning, organization, time management, and getting started on tasks. Those skills are reinforced in every subject.
Multi-sensory, hands-on lessons. Students learn by seeing, hearing, moving, and doing, which keeps busy minds engaged.
Occupational therapy on campus. Our occupational therapist helps students with self-regulation and focus strategies. OT is included in tuition.
Learning Center time. Students who need extra help in reading, writing, or math get it during the school day without losing class time.
Progress you can see. Students are assessed three times a year in core subjects and twice a year in executive functioning, so we know what is working and adjust quickly.
A caring Christian community. Weekly chapel, character formation, and friendship and social skills groups help kids feel known and encouraged.
Is Pathway right for your child?
Pathway accepts students with ADHD, but a diagnosis never decides admission. We look at the whole child: how they learn, what support they need during the school day, and whether our program is the right place for them to grow. Every family goes through the same admissions process so we can decide together.
Enrollment is open year-round. Call us at (949) 837-1203, book a tour, or join us at our Dec 5 Open House. You can also read more on Is Pathway right for my child?
