Elementary Math Teacher / Intervention Teacher
The Elementary Math Teacher/Intervention teacher is responsible for teaching two elementary math classes and supporting students in math intervention in 1:1 or small group settings. Implements math strategies to enable students to develop the competencies and skills to be successful in math. Identifies student needs through pre and post assessments. Provides small group instruction designed to motivate and meet the individual needs of students. Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities. Evaluates academic growth of students through administering pre and post assessments and tracking weekly progress. Communicates student progress with teachers, curriculum specialists and administrators in order to help guide intervention and classroom instruction for individual students. This is a Monday – Thursday, part-time job. Approx. 18-20 hours per week. The spiritual life of a Pathway Teacher should be dynamic and encouraging to those with whom they work. Their daily life should be that of a Christian role model. Pathway School is seeking a lead teacher, under the immediate supervision of the School Director and as a member of the school staff, that shall provide appropriate instruction and guidance to students assigned to him/her consistent with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. The spiritual life of a Pathway Teacher should be dynamic and encouraging to those with whom they work. Their daily life should be that of a Christian role model. Pathway School lead teachers play a vital role in maintaining a positive, healthy, learning and teaching environment in which students can flourish. Bachelor’s degree required. Current teaching credential required, education specialist credential preferred but not mandatory. Teaching experience is preferred, although successful completion of a student-teaching program will be accepted with above average recommendations from supervisors or other professionals who have observed the teacher’s personal characteristics, scholastic, attainment and classroom performance.
